Privacy Policy
How Althio collects, uses and protects personal information. Last updated 15 October 2026.
1. About this policy
This policy explains how Althio, Inc. (“Althio”, “we”, “us”) handles personal information when you visit althio.ai, contact us or request a demo, and when you use the Althio app as a member of clinic staff or as a person in care.
2. Health information we handle for clinics
Clinics use Althio to record, transcribe and document care. When we handle health information for a clinic, we act as that clinic’s business associate under HIPAA. We use that information only to provide our services to the clinic, on the clinic’s instructions, and under our agreement with the clinic, including a Business Associate Agreement. That agreement, not this policy, governs that information.
If you are a person in care, your clinic’s Notice of Privacy Practices explains how your health information is used. Please contact your clinic with questions or requests about it. We will help the clinic respond.
3. Information we collect
Information you give us: your name, work email, organisation, role and message when you request a demo, contact us or apply for a role.
Account information: your name, email address and sign-in activity when you use the Althio app.
Information collected automatically: your IP address, browser and device details, and the pages you view, collected by our website host and by our app to keep the service running and secure.
4. How we use information
We use personal information to provide, secure and support our services, to respond to you, to send service messages, to understand how our website and app are used so we can improve them, and to meet our legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use health information for advertising.
5. Cookies and analytics
Our website and app use a small number of cookies and similar technologies that are needed to run them, keep you signed in and measure traffic. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but some features may then not work.
6. Who we share information with
We share personal information with service providers that work for us, such as cloud hosting, speech-to-text transcription, sign-in, email delivery, analytics and error tracking, and website hosting. They may use it only to provide their service to us. Where HIPAA requires it, a provider that handles health information signs a Business Associate Agreement with us.
We may also share information when the law requires it, to protect the rights and safety of our users and others, or as part of a merger or sale of our business, in which case this policy will continue to apply.
7. Security
We protect information with encryption in transit and at rest, and we limit access to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify affected clinics and individuals of a breach as the law requires. Read more on our Security & Privacy page.
8. How long we keep information
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy or as the law requires. Health information we handle for a clinic is kept and deleted as set out in our agreement with that clinic.
9. Where information is processed
Our services are hosted in the United States. Members of our team may work on our systems from other countries, including India, under the same security controls and confidentiality obligations.
10. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, to get a copy of it, or to object to some uses of it. To make a request, email us at support@althio.ai. We will respond within the time the law requires. If your request is about information a clinic keeps in Althio, please contact that clinic.
11. Children
Our website is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information through it. Where a clinic uses Althio with younger people in care, the clinic is responsible for getting any consent the law requires.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page with a new date, and where a change is significant we will tell customers before it takes effect.
13. Contact us
